This home was perfect for our group of ten adults and is the best place we've ever stayed. The modern architecture was refreshing and has aged well since being built in 2001. Three beds for 2, 2 futons, a couch and a bunk bed makeup the beds. The master bedroom and bathroom are amazing. The artist loft is a quirky touch but is off limits to guest participation. The view from the patio and dock of the inland waterway was relaxing with plentiful dolphin sightings. Tons of classic board games and puzzles line the living room shelves next to the wet bar wood burning fireplace. Fully equipped open-concept kitchen with dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and double oven. Linens are provided including beach towels. The large fridge has a water dispenser. We easily caught a dozen small sea bass and red drum from the dock with the provided fishing poles. The pool is perfect for hanging out when not at the beach. We kayaked occasionally when the current was slowed by the tides. There is a 4-burner propane grill by the pool. Catalina drive is great for biking and is around the corner from the Crab Shack. Downtown, there is a bike route that takes you through some residential streets that is worth checking out. There are also tennis courts downtown. Beach parking wasn't a problem at the meters at North Beach. Sweetie Pie has great gelato for after dinner. Our trip was a 5/5 but here are a few suggestions for future travelers. There are 3 kayaks, 2 singles and one tandem but only 2 paddles so bring one if you need it. You'll want water shoes for the kayak loading area. Watch out for wasp nests near doors, one happened to get me near the artist loft. The audio system for the house is not functioning so bring your own tunes. The ice maker couldn't keep up so bring some extra ice. Sleeping 14 would be a tight fit. We did run out of paper products by the end. Bearing these minor issues, I would highly recommend this property and would stay again.

This house was the backdrop for one our best family vacations ever. My kids jumped in the pool even though we were there before it was really hot enough for that. My husband enjoyed kayaking for 2 hours almost every day after breakfast. My brother was in heaven fishing off the dock. We drove into the downtown historic area a couple of times and that was a short trip. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Overall this home exceeded our expectations and all of our friends are asking us for the info so they can stay here too after seeing our photos.
